About Michelle
Originally from Melbourne, Michelle has lived in Byron Bay with her husband Paul and their daughter Uma since 2011.
She’s been a small businesses owner for many years, and her passions include visual art and writing children’s books; Michelle’s work sells across Australia and also into European markets.
Practising yoga for over 20 years and teaching for 10, Michelle began her yoga practise in the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition, before moving into Akhanda Yoga in 2015.
Michelle welcomes those who prefer private sessions over studio classes. Personalised and pressure-free practice.
Study in India
Over a 2 year period living in Rishikesh, Michelle:
Completed 600-hours of Akhanda™ Yoga training with Yogrishi Vishvketu; including 100 hours of Yoga Life Coaching
Taught at Anand Prakash Ashram, becoming a key part of the Akhanda™ Yoga teaching team and assisted on multiple yoga teacher trainings
Led daily Agnihotra (Sanskrit Fire Ceremony) in the Ashram
Michelle continues to be a dedicated practitioner of yoga and veda.
Ongoing Study...
Michelle is engaged in ongoing study of Vedic Chanting with Shantala Sriramaiah in the traditional lineage of Sri M.S. Sreenivasan (Challakere Brothers tradition). This brings added depth, devotion, and grounding to her practice and teaching.
She’s a talented artist and a down-to-earth yoga teacher. The yogic practices ground and uplift her life in equal measure.
For Michelle, the real key is consistent doing; these tools reach deep into body & mind, creating new thought patterns and habits.
